Oh Nuts!

Brian and I discovered last night that our son has an allergy to certain nuts. Around 8:00pm last night I shared some of my Granola Nut Clusters with Brady as a nighttime snack. Approximately 20 min later I was shoving Benadryl down him hoping he would recover! These pictures were taken during our honeymoon phase when we thought the Benadryl was working and we were out of the woods.
At approximately 10:00pm we called 911 and were taken, sirens blaring, to the ER. Brady was very brave considering he endured a shot of epinephrine in the arm and an IV to follow once were arrived at the hospital. Ironically, he looked worse than he did in these pictures when we decided to call the ambulance.

He is feeling much better today after some sleep and his medical treatment! He has two black eyes from the swelling, but still has all his energy. Definitely enough to play baseball with Aunt Sarah before she left for home. We were so lucky for the fast service and attention from the medical response team!

  1. oh that sucks! I totally understand the allergies and we now have an epi pen for Lily when she has milk or eggs. Luckily the benadryl has worked well for us and we haven't had to use the epi pen. Knock on wood. Guess you now need to get one.
